SEER2 replaced SEER in 2023. The numbers look smaller (a 15.2 SEER2 system is roughly equivalent to a 16 SEER old rating system) because the test conditions changed.

For Florida, the federal minimum is now 15.2 SEER2. We typically recommend 16 18 SEER2 as the value sweet spot.
